Clint,

How did you prep the surfaces and what kind of paint did you use? I'm getting ready to rebuild my engine and I was wondering how you cleaned yours.

it was first sand blasted then tore completly apart to get all of the sand out and repaired. then put back together, all but the small parts. I took a wire brush on a drill to any spots that had any dirt or surffest rust. For the oil spots i used paint thinner or starter fluid and a rag to clean off, then paint it. I used Case IH paint. Over all it cost less to use it. Thought it would cost more.
A gallon cost me $60 or $65.

I like the CaseIH paint a lot. I did find the yeller to be quite a bit more money than red or white when I recently bought paint. Must be something precious in the pigment??

Well It took a lot longer then i wanted it to but it is all done. It has been for a little bit now but i just now have had the time to get the pics and post them on here. sorry it took this long. some of you may have seen it in the fall at the Hog Waller or a pic of it there, But i did not wont to leave this post with no ending so Here it is. I had some good and some bad times on this one. Dont know if i will ever sandblast one again or not Lot Of Work but i think it was worth it in the end. I am happy with the out come and hope to do another one soon.
