CAN ANYONE TELL ME IF I CAN CHANGE FROM THE FIRST STYLE CLUTCH PEDAL ASSEMBLY 501 TO 32228 TO THE LATER STYLE 32229 & UP JUST BY CHANGING PEDAL,OPERATING ROD,& RELEASE YOKE

That will do it, but your new pedal will consisit of 2 pieces. The pedal assembly, and the plate assembliy which the pedal fits on. Getting the pedals off the shaft to do this may make it not worth the effort, they are frequently very difficult to remove.
