Steves Disc

Postby Not Mini Acres » Sun Mar 13, 2005 8:16 pm

I saw a picture of a disc like this and it had the draw bar reversed. Did they make several different versions of these lift disc? I have a fast hitch disc. so I'm not up on these, but, still love learning about Cubs and equipment from all of y'all.
Just was wondering! Thanks men!
Love my Cubs, a 1951 Regular and a 1957 LoBoy. Got most the impliments, missing a couple but still looking. Have a lot of Tractor Buddies and getting more!

Steve...John is right about adjustin' the spring on your Master Control Lift  . I have one on my 1948 Cub. The spring is a "helper spring" that must be adjusted for the implement you're lifting :D . Mine works just fine on liftin' my Model 22 sickle mower 8) ...but your disc will still require a lot of tightening up on your spring tension  .

Steve,

How much weight do you plan to add to the weight tray?

I realize you have the special drawbar, but if it were mounted in the front holes, still facing back, would the disk clear the tires? If so, it would help slightly because of the angle.

Country I adjusted the spring and it lifted easier. Although I was afraid to start turning the adjuster due to the age I went real slow and it adjusted fine .

George, At this time I'm waiting to see if I will need to add any weight.I adjusted the angle on of attack at this time I will have to wait until the ground thaws out. As for flipping the draw bar forward I don't beleive that the disk will fit wit the draw bar reversed. the disk has a slot on the tongue that will only fit to the drawbar in the present position I will post a pix tomorrow when I get back out to the shop.

I think Geroge meant to move it to the front holes, but still leave the drawbar pointing to the rear, not reversing it.

Yes John I understand what you are getting at but moving the drawbar forward But as you will be able to see in the following pix there is not enough tongue on the disk to allow me to do that. Image Steve

Could you send a closer pic of the attachment for this disk. I have this type of disk and it is missing some of the drawbar mounts. Thanks. gar
