seat bracket

what is the bracket under the cub pan seat used for it's about 7/8 wide and 1/34 long with a 1/2 hole in it

also will someone refresh me on how to type in a key word and find old post on a subject, thanks and have a great Lords day

The clip you're talking about is a tie-off point for an implement trip rope.

According to my parts book, that bracket is meant to hold a trip rope.
