Postby Kevin » Wed Mar 16, 2005 10:10 pm

My cub is 12 volt what kind of headlight switch do I need to use? I currently don't have any. I know the cubs were originally 6 volt will the switch burn out, probably so right.
thanks

Kevin,

Assuming you use the same wattage bulbs as the 6 volt were, the current through the switch will only be half as much. It would be the current, not the voltage that would cause heating of the contacts. The original switch would be ideal.

Yep, the switch is the least of your worries. Unless the contacts inside aren't making good connections, it won't burn out by just going to 12V.
