I have gone through both the carb on my 1948 Cub and my baler engine which are both I-H carbs. I did not notice any difference in them unless the jets might be different and I did not check for that.
Then came Bronson

some bailers and threshers had Super A engines on them. They are lager engines than the cub. Most commonly they are cub engines. What is the serial number of the baler? Most likely there is dirt of rust flakes in the filter, or the screen at the inlet to carburator ( sometimes they have been removed), or dirt in the carb and nozzles. There may be a filter in the tank that plugs too. Many times this filter has been damaged or removed.
I might add that old leaking gaskets can rob you of power too. both the one between the carb halfs and the one attaching to the intake manifold are suspect.
