Been bitten by triplet Cubs in France

Postby Patbretagne » Mon Apr 04, 2005 8:16 am

Hi over there in the US. Just to let you know that there are also cubbers in France. I'm one right out near to you on the atlantic coast near to Brest. I bought a Cub on Ebay from Dordoigne centre France and ended up having three, why I'm not sure.
I got 2 of them home this weekend after 1h on the road with LandRover and Trailer a bit worn out, but I have been bitten by the bug. What an advanced little beauty the cub is.
Ive a lot of restoration to do over the next year or so but WOW. Thanks mr Mccormick.
I'll be asking lots of questions on the forum in time, be gentle with me I'm new to cubs and may ask silly questions. Patrick

Patrick, welcome to the forum. I'm sure by now you have looked around the site and are familiar with some of the links. If not, take the time to read the "sticky" posts at the top of the forums and check out Rudi's manual and tips site. I think you will find us a friendly bunch and we will help you where and when we can.

Hey thanks, I would be very happy to pay for copying, over here it costs, I assume over the pond where you are too.
I've been in restoration for many years, steam, tractors and stationery engines, not counting buildings and any sort of industrial archeology (spelling patrick!) but I have not come across Farmall Cubs before, what an eye opener when one compares with the allis B which is really just an engine on wheels to pull things agross the soil, I say that even though I have a great respect for my B.
Cub equates with WOW
The contacts on this forum also WOW²

Get in touch by Private mail and I'll give you my address and if you sent youir Email a few photos also even though out here in the sticks we have to wait at least another 18 months for ADSL or fast internet!

Best wishes, keep cubbing Patrick

Hello Patrick
Welcome to the Cub Club. I have a French Cub here in Ireland. These Cubs get about. I am not exactly clear how the French ones differ from the US ones. Mine is the Paris model, or so it says on the plate. Mind you, I have cursing one of your French people. When I got the tractor, the previous owner had cut a piece out of the bonnet, put a piano hinge on it and 2 bolts which you would see on a garden gate. I assume he wanted better access to the points. I just wish he had not bothered.
