Throttle

Postby Dave Irish » Wed Apr 06, 2005 1:46 pm

Hello, Long time no post. I was disking last week, before the snow. And found my throttle not as responsive as it was. In that to get the proper RPMs or idle I have to go way up ...bring her down and fiddle with it to get it right. Linkages appear not to binding, And the carb is soaking as we speak. All thoughts welcome.

Thanks, Dave

Dave, my Cub was doing the same thing. On mine the governor linkage was too loose. The motor didn't want to slow down when the throttle was pulled back, and was slow to speed up when throttle was advanced. When I moved and held the linkage at the left side by the fan shroud, it acted normal. I bent it slighly to make some friction at that point and that fixed it.

Thanks Mike I will fiddle around with that when I get the carb back on.
It is more or less just annoying as once I get it "set" every thing is fine. But in November it was perfect.
