Re: Carrier platform42" is interesting. I wonder if that is the offical IH size. Cutting 42" from standard lengths of lumber is not an efficient yield. Lowes TopChoice (TM) treated lumber is about 3/8 longer than nominal length thus permitting a yield of 3 pieces 48" or 4 pieces 36" from a 12' length. 36" looks terribly narrow and really limits the cargo area. Probably 48" will be the length for mine. Convince me otherwise?

Re: Carrier platform42" is off the top of my head... Might be 48", I'll have to go measure.
At the time I built it I was totally devoid of any scrap wood to use as blocking, so I may have justified the cutoff lengths by using them to start a block pile.
Re: Carrier platformEmbarrassing that I should have overlooked that information. Thanks again.
