Yep, showed that to my buddy Billy Ray early this morning. Just don't seem right, in a way.
All I can say, there are 2 items from the auction that you won't see advertised for resale in my lifetime.

He had it on another web site for sale within 3 days after the auction. I wanted to buy that engine but busy talking to someone, and missed it.

I'm pretty sure it is, Roy. I know there was one that looked just like it.

As sad as it seems that George's collection is now out on the market, this is the unfortunate reality that we all face. From the reports here, most of the "special" stuff has gone to good homes. The fact that the rest of the stuff is now being sent out into the world again is just a fact of life, IMHO.

It sure is, Roy. The starter was on that engine when it sold. Right now I can't remember for sure which one, but one of the engines had a welded ear. I think it was that black one........the biggest reason I passed on it.

Out of curiosity, how much did he pay for the engine at the auction? Just curious as to how much he's trying to flip it for.

The engine is now on eBay.

I'm thinking $200 or a bit more. Once I decided I wasn't interested I didn't pay much attention.

Originally, I thought I knew some of it's history, but found out it was a different engine.

He paid either $160.00 or $180.00 for it, and is asking $495.00 from the add that I saw.
