Farmall Cub

My Cub had not been started for awhile so I primed the oil pump. I noticed oil was leaking from around the primer plug. I intended to take it out and use a little sealer to stop the leak but before I did I put the hydraulics on. Word of caution, now I can't get the plug out without taking the hydraulic lines off. They run right over the primer plug which I didn't notice until I filled the block with oil and tried it out! Guess I know what I'll do tomorrow!

If you use a wooden wedge you can spread them enough to get an allen wrench in there.

Thanks, I never would have thought of that. That should save me alot of work.

Don't overdo it. Spread them only enough to get the wrench in.

There is also 2 more plugs, 1 by the oil-filter cap and another on the opposite side of the engine by the governor.

Will the others also work for priming? If so they woud be easier to get to.

One plug is right behind the carb and does not work for priming. That was the first one I pulled before you or BD showed me where the corect one is. I do not know about the one by the govener.

Easy to get to and doesn't require you to look for that missing Allen wrench or remove a plug. What more could you ask for?

What more could you ask for?

To have a handy dandy pump oil can. Tip fits right in that hole and pump away. Can't over do it. Oil will just flow back into the filter canister.
Easiest way I've found.
