Alternator Brackets

Part of the refurb job on the '56 was to convert over to a 12v alternator system. I decided to go with the Delco 10 si mainly because it was cheap and readily available at my nearest NAPA. I had a couple of the top mounting arms from Clint that look factory made. I didn't have a bottom bracket, but wanted one to match the craftsmanship of the top. Here's what I came up with.....made with 3/16th flat bar. It takes about an 11 degree bend from the mounting block to clear the governor housing.
I'm close to having the tractor running.....at last. 8)

I think the hood will fit without hitting the alternator.

Looks very good, glad you are happy with the bracket. I have been working on making the mounting bracket also to offer in a kit that would come with both.

looks good Harold. I use a very similar setup, and it clears fine. You will need to reclock the alternator to move the alternator plug but thats it. Just take out the 4 bolts and turn the front half of the case and put the bolts back in.

It's probably easier to purchase an alternator bracket.

Use the search function on this site. There are a number of posts on making the bracket.

Welcome
