I would tend to agree if the standard rockshaft were used. However if the hyd ststem were tapped and a large diameter cylinder and extra oil supply were used it would be possible. I believe Rudi has a log splitter set up on a cub and that would take a lot of pressure. Since the auger is driven (probably) by the pto I would think the lift might be also. We'll know if someone finds one. Vern

I am currently looking for a PHD and if I can't find one, then the logical step is to look at one of the more modern 1 or 2 man PHD and mount it to my Cub.

According to the mounting instructions and the parts list I have, the auger is driven by the 'elusive' PTO speed reducer/reverser. As for the lift, the same instructions call for the FH pull bar and drop arms to be removed and the drop arms replaced with arms the hook to the PHD. No mention of an external source for the hydraulics.

Folks,

Got the PHD home, mounted, and tested. It drills holes fine (in sandy soil) here. This is for a FH equipped Cub.

Folks,

Thanks for all your interest in the PHD. It has a new home and will be delivered next month. I just do not have a use for it and wanted it to be used. The new owner has working plans for it doing what it was meant to do, dig post holes, lots of post holes..

Folks:

I guess it is time to update this thread. The Mark II is finally at it's new home :{_}: Yup --- it is in my trailer and will soon be in the pole barn getting ready to be put to work in the spring. This is going to make my tree transplanting much easier and it is going to really make building paddocks doable for me. I am simply amazed with this unit, and since it is the only one that we know of for a Cub, I am really pleased to be it's new caretaker.

I am researching this as much as possible - hopefully I will come up with something.

Oh yeah, this is the reason why I am not going after either the $800.00 or the $400.00 Cubs. Not much left in the Cub Fund till the end of the year.

Rudi, Glad to see you have it. It amazes me sometimes at how many aftermarket things were made for a cub. A few copies of each need to be preserved and even used. :applause: Vern
