Have you tired this handle nut? There is limited space between the rockguards where the hole is for the hold up rod and I wonder how this handle nut would work out (hopefully well).

I didn't run out and measure one, but I thought they were 7/16-20.

Re: Sickle Bar Mower Crank Handle Nut for Stay Rod
Great pictures. The potential issue I see is that handle nut lever, arm, whatever you call it sits low on the handle nut from Fastenal and high on the original handle nut. The original sits up high to clear the bottom of the rock guards that are near the hole in the bar. In other words, I do not think you could tighten the Fastenal handle nut all the way down to the bar in the transport position because the back of the rock guards will interfere, but that may be okay.

Mine never got put on this year. The areas I usually mow was done by the parks department this year with their hammer knife mower.
Not sure if they were embarrassed that our little radio control club was taking better care of the park than they were, or if they didn't like the hay left laid in a swath like that.

The Fastenal looks very close to one I have that originally was painted green.
