Farmall Cub

I have a 47 model cub that has a distinct loud clicking noise when moving in both first and reverse.
Tractor still moves and pulls ok, but from the noise, obviously someting is not right. Thinking it
may be a tooth missing on first/reverse drive gear. What do you think?
I am brand new to forum so be gentle.

Could be a shift fork, I would bet on bad gears

Agree with Boss. Pull the shifter cover and have a look inside. If the shifter fork is broken or cracked, it'll usually be on the bottom of the bands that wrap around the rail. Flashlight and inspection mirror will be helpful.

I would think it could simply be a loose shifter fork. Well I would hope for that anyways. Simple fix, tighten up the bolt.

Sounds strange, but check all the bolts and lug nuts. A loose one will sound 'mechanical'.
