New Cub ownerHello everyone
I am a new Cub owner and just want to say hello. I just purchased a 1950 Cub with belly mower, sickle bar mower. snow plow w/ chains and wheel weights. Cub needs some motor work , and I am a total novice when it comes to this. Hopefully you will be hearing from me with some questions and concerns about this tractor. Cub is in very good shape but who knows what lurks under the hood. Bob
Re: New Cub ownerLooks nice Bob, welcome to the forum!
I don't believe in taking the bull by the horns. I took a goat by the horns once and that was enough excitement for me.

Re: New Cub ownerWelcome to the Cub forum. Others will be along to say "howdy" in a while.
If you haven't already, check out the Manuals link above (in blue) for reference material for your 1950 Cub. Being a '50, what's the serial number? If the range is from 99536 to approximately 106511, it could have been a demonstrator. You can find out more about demonstrators and IH's program here: http://users.wbnorriselectric.com/democub/3.htm or by doing a general Google search. Thanks for posting a pic of your Cub. Nice!! Re: New Cub ownerBob,
Welcome to the forum. ...had to look up 06073 to find out where you are, being CT is such a huge state. If you can make it to Cecil's CubFest Northeast October 12,13, & 14 you will have opportunity to meet many of us from the area and learn a lot about Cubs. If you can bring yours, even better. You should be able to get to Cecil's in under 2 hours. Check this thread out: CubFest Northeast 2 weeks and counting Hope to see you there. Peter
Re: New Cub ownerThanks Peter
I just might be there.
Re: New Cub owner
Just installed a new carb yesterday, still have a couple of adjustments and then we will try to fire the old girl up
Re: New Cub ownerBob:
Nice Cub on acquiring it.Question... is that an oil spot below the torque tube? If there is anyway for you to attend and bring your Cub if you can, then Cecil's is one of the best places for a new Cub owner to learn about and understand some of the capabilities of their new acquisition. You will enjoy it. Hope to meet you there -- and yeah -- we are traveling from NB. Confusion breeds Discussion which breeds Knowledge which breeds Confidence which breeds Friendship

Hey Bob Installed new carb and plugs gave her a little choke hit the starter and she purrs like a kitten. No smoke,no rattling, hydraulics work great. If it wasn't raining I would be out in the fields for a trial run
