Whole new pulley at my local IH dealer was only about $20....and it wasn't worth $20 for me to drill out all those rivets.

Thanks guys, the best deal I've found on the pulleys are $30 each plus shipping. The nearest dealer is 3 hours away so I'll buy the bearings and new bolts here local.

Re: Woods 42 cub mower
Yogie, pretty sure those pulleys are the same as what is on the Danco/IH C-2. Does 7" sound right?? CaseIH discontinued the pulley and replaced it with a taller one that just would not work on the fast hitch C-2, the belt was too short! And it was $45 to boot.
I robbed the ones off the belly mount C-2 mule drive . I traded that mower for an awesome chainsaw bear by Ross MacVicar Capeway bearing in Plymouth Mass was able locate new ones for him, so I got the number off the parts. Phoenix also sells online. $30 ea.
The 7" is part 38700088 https://phoenix-mfg.com

Re: Woods 42 cub mower (fixed)
Thanks everyone, new bearings plus I sand blasted the halves while they were apart.
I've got about $15 total in the job.
Now to move on to the next part.

Re: Woods 42 cub mower
Those pulleys look great, Yogie. This was a very timely posting, as I was just trying to decide what to do for my idler pulleys. I am in the process of cleaning up and repainting my Woods 42. This evening I drilled out all 36 rivets and cleaned up each half. Drilling out the rivets was not as big a project as I at first feared that it might be. I have now ordered the two bearings @ $2.90 ea. and should have the mower ready to go in a few days.
Since retirement, the things I miss most are the holidays!

Re: Woods 42 cub mower
Yogie, Did you use pop rivets to fasten the halves back together? If so, what size?

3/16 by 1/4 long worked just right Bob. I also picked up washers for the back but they were to small. It worked very well without them after all.

Re: Woods 42 cub mower
Gonna' play devil's advocate (maybe). Were the original rivets aluminum? If not, any concern as to how long the aluminum pop rivets will last? (Never mind if the original rivets were aluminum)
