Paint Schemes ?????

Postby sammydonnacub » Wed Oct 10, 2012 10:35 am

OK Guys,
We have our 49 running great and all the starting problems worked out fine.. Now I am thinking of paint... Well, Since I had to replace the Hood/Gas Tank and tires, I can no longer be concerned with "Original". So, I am going to change a few things on it such as: 12 Volt Neg ground with Alt (Now I will be able to put my Ham Radio on it) Electronic Ignition, Canopy, and I have figured a system that will eliminate the Hand Lever for the plow Leveling and also have a plan for a double Hyd lift. Ok, So Maybe that will take a while.. thinking about the paint Scheme, I do NOT want to paint it like all the other 1000's as original. Who has seen, and will send me pics or descriptions of unusual paint jobs for the Cub. I may just keep it as is for a while but want some ideas Please.........I have seen a pic of one that is GREEN and CUBOTA is silver so the possibilities are endless I would think...
My Dad sold Fords for 32 years so I wanted a Ford but Got sentimentally involved in this cub. Actually the 2 sons of the Original owner are coming over this week to see it and Drive it after 21 years... Neat.
IDEAS??????????????????

I love the look of a red cub, with a white hood and grill. Black accents such as gas cap, breather cap, starter etc..

Or, Jan could do a custom painted hood? :big afro:

I don't believe in taking the bull by the horns. I took a goat by the horns once and that was enough excitement for me.

Use the old Ford (8n,NNa,ect) red and grey colors, using the old "red belly" scheme.

Jim T, we need a picture of "Buttercup". Not only pretty, but a Cubtug winner.

here's my '51 hi-crop two-tone...red as a nod to tradition, black because...well...I like black.
the color break accents the uniqueness of Loewy's design and the black makes all the red bits pop.
