Help with Plow IDI have bought a plow that I am not sure will fit a cub, but if not it should fit an A or Super A. If anyone knows what the numbers that are on this plow mean, please let me know.
Re: Help with Plow IDHere's a page from the manual:
![]() See Part #6. Looks like you got one for a Cub. Another thing to check is the drawbar brackets. On a Cub they are rectangular, on an A one end is wider than the other. Bob "We don't need to think more,

Re: Help with Plow IDThe drawbar brackets are rectangular, but it does look big and heavy for a cub. The disk measures 25" across, and shows it has had little use. What would have been the size of the disk when new?
Re: Help with Plow IDDale Shaw can answer the diameter question best, but I think they were 25-26" when new.

Re: Help with Plow IDLooks like you've got a decent 152 there. I like them. 25 inches is a good diameter. I couldn't tell from the pic. Is the 152 drawbar (spreader bar) on it? Mores pics if you don't mind

Re: Help with Plow IDI don't have any more pic at this time, but will get more tomorrow. The bar (spreader bar) is not there, and I don't see where it would attach. Did anyone see that it is stamped Canada, it seems like a long way from home. I got some other parts with the plow that looks like a rockshaft for a cub, but not like I have seen before. I will attach a pic of it and see what some of you know about it also.
Re: Help with Plow ID
Part of the manual lift(not all there unless you have more parts) Thomas
Re: Help with Plow IDThe disc was 26" when new. 25" is great.
There are 2 different bearing assemblies for the disc plows. The 152 (belly mount) came standard with the Timken bearing. The 151 (pull behind) came with a "chilled disc bearing". Either could be had as an option. The spreader drawbar is narrower than a normal drawbar. It will have 3 hitch pin holes. The rockshaft in the last picture is a converted hand lift rockshaft. The cubs originally had the hand lift. when they came out with the hydraulics, IH sent out instructions for modifying the hand lift, to reduce the expence of adding the hydro. to the cub. Dale Shaw

Re: Help with Plow IDI looked at another disk plow that I have, and they are the same except that the disk on this one is only 22" across. It also has the drawbar attached to it, but for some reason it does look smaller. I guess that the other 3" that has worn off does make a differance. I took another pic of the plow that I will attach.
Re: Help with Plow IDremember, with each inch of diameter you lose, you loose concavity also. The concavity helps with the curl and roll of the dirt, helping it to break up more.

Re: Help with Plow ID
What do you think would be the smallest dia you could use and still get a fair job of turning of the soil?
Re: Help with Plow IDDon't forget the bearing cap is left-handed thread and usually bronze in material, so handle with care.
Re: Help with Plow IDI'm plowing with a little over 21", It likes to plow deep! And I get more seat time because of narrower furrow.

Re: Help with Plow IDThat is a hand lift that has been modified to use as a rear rock shaft. IH provided dealers with instructions for doing that when someone converted from a hand lift ot a touch control. I have never seen the actual instructions, just going on second hand information.
