Hi Barnyard, I have just realised I have made the fuel guage and it pertains to USA Gallons. Is there a conversion to Imperial Gallons I can use, so I'll make another one. Although in Ireland we are on the metric system ie Litres, I still use the old Imperial system. Can't get my head round that metric stuff. Happy New Year to You All, Regards, Donegal Cub.

1 gallon [US, liquid] = 0.832 674 184 63 gallon [UK] although as I thinkk about it, the reverse may be more helpful: 1 gallon [UK] = 1.200 949 925 5 gallon [US, liquid] http://www.onlineconversion.com/volume.htm

I'd forget about the conversion stuff and just start from scratch like I did when I made them. I would remove the drain plug on the carb and let the fuel drain(in a gascan) till it quits coming out. That will place your tank in the empty position. There will still be some gas in the tank, but not high enough to enter the sediment bowl. Use your measuring container of choice and add one liter(or whichever measurement is for your area) and add one container at a time, removing the stick quickly and marking with a pencil, then continue this process one container at a time and marking the stick till your tank is full. The main reason for the sticks is just for a quick visual check for gas. If it's barely visible on the stick----time to add, if there's a couple inches------good for several hours. Knowing you Rick, I bet you were the hardest worker they had.

That tends to make it hard on the old pension plan. I'm planning to have some of those made to give out.
