Sweet Ride :{_}: You'll have to let us know how the "Eco Boost" performs. IE: fuel mileage/towing

Very Nice!! You should be really happy with that engine. A company that works for me had two diesel trucks, a GMC 3500 with the Duramax engine, and an F-350 with the 6.0L Diesel. They absolutely hated them, mostly because of the high maintenance and repair costs. They had diesels because they have a 24' enclosed trailer that they pull, full of testing equipment. Not real heavy, but certainly a load to pull. This spring they traded both trucks for new F-150s like yours with the eco-boost V6. So far they absolutely love them! Better gas mileage when empty, and the same gas mileage when towing, however gas is a lot less expensive than diesel fuel. Also, an oil change is $40 instead of $200 on the diesel. Also, they say that they tow BETTER than the diesels, quicker throttle response, much better handling because of the better suspension, and no problems towing the 6500 pound trailers.

Congratulations! I think you will love it, so far I love mine (had 7 months and now at 20K miles!).

I was a bit skeptical about the eco-boost when I started “shopping” a year ago, but after a little research I was convinced that is what I wanted. The eco-boost compared to my last truck, '06 F-150 Super Crew King Ranch that had the 5.4, is ahead in all areas I can think of. I get about 4 to 5 mpg better in all conditions (towing, around town and highway) and with the larger tank (36 gal.) I have close to a 700 mile range! I have the towing package (which includes the brake controller, etc.) but have just pulled my Cub on a single axle trailer without brakes, and you don’t really know its back there.

Enjoy,

Nice truck. I may have seen it being built when I toured the new F-150 plant in Dearborn a while back. Pretty amazing factory and surprising how many variations they make.

Enjoy it!

Nice truck Vince I hope it will serve you well, I built those trucks in KC Mo for 34 years, see if the letter K appears in the VIN if it does that means it was built in KC Mo.

Vince:

That is one nice pickmeup. My brother-in-law has an '09 F-150 Lariat. He loves it and pretty much everyone in the family agrees. I think you will enjoy the new one.

We have the Eco option on our Odyssey and it surely does help. We towed probably a 1/2 ton back from Cecil's and the mileage wasn't too bad at all (considering it was ethanol). Normally we can get around 950km on a tank using 91 Octane ethanol free gas and with the ethanol in the US and pulling the trailer we were getting around 825 to 850kms per tank. Pretty decent mileage I thought.
