Hood edges - straight or slight curve?

Hi all!

Lewis' hood fits perfectly and the grille meshes really well with the front of the hood. However, when I was cleaning the tank so I could try the POR 15 treatment (or perhaps taking to a radiator shop) I had the hood upside down. to drain the water out. Are the lower edges of the hood from the tank forward perfectly straight (front to back) or is there a but of a curve to it? If curved, how curved? Anyone happen to have a pic of your hood upside down? Mine is a '55, and I want to make sure that I have it right before I take care of any potential leaks in the unit.

Thanks for your help!

The sides would have been straight from the factory.

I was afraid of that... looks like Lewis' hood has a date with a metalworker (me, I guess)

Mike, if I understand your question correctly, it may be addressed in this post:

Thanks, John! It would seem that the defect in that thread is exactly the same as the problem with mine. The tractor had a head-on collision with a tree branch at one point in time. The grille was all bent and the lip in the front was also dented in... One more thing to fix!
