If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem.

I priced a new pto pulley for the L-22 at the CaseIH dealer...almost 200 bucks...I machined and rebushed the one that came with the mower....I'm a cheeepey I guess. Hope your dealer has em for less...let us know. Mine is a perfect press fit over the O.D. of the splines only..drive via a special pin I made too. It really needs the additional contact point area to drive it if I'm ever going to actually mow with it.

The pulley and PTO shaft on my '47 were both chewed up. I machined the outside of the shaft spline to true it up... just on the tips of the splines. Then I bored the pulley to true it up and eliminate the splines and cut a keyway. I made a bushing to fill the space and slotted it for the key. The key had about 10 choices for a keyway in the shaft. :D As far as I know it's still doing its' job. :D

The moral of the story? NEVER allow a pulley to run loosely on any shaft.

Hey!!! That's the guy I bought this Cub/sickle mower from. Joel had just recently moved from NJ and brought it with him. I was just reliving the endless (600 mile) ride on I-80 to get it.

It had a bad pulley and Bigdog kindly supplied me with the one from his crispy Cub.

My guess is that I bought the tractor before the replacement pulley arrived.
