Postby Former Member » Tue Oct 23, 2012 8:56 pm

The title about says it all. It did great and the 152 disc plow did a great job.

Would you go back to a moldboard after that? Looks good!
Did the blade ever get in the way? How do you hold it up?

Blade does not ever get in the way. I have never used a moldboard.

The PO welded a large nut to the top of the bracket, that bolts to the torque tube for the grader blade.

A flat bar was made that hooks to the top of the lift arms of the blade, and bolts to the welded on nut. Keeps the blade up high, allowing hydraulic use of the mid and rear implements

Looks good Dale. Great idea holding up the snowplow. I've be wanting to put my snowplow on just in case the snow flies early like it did last year but haven't yet because I want to use the fast hitch for other things and didn't want the blade scrapping the ground.

Good looking tractor. I like that idea leaving the blade on the tractor especially this time of year. Do you disk now or in the spring?

I’m looking at 1979 Cub for my next project. It’s not in very good shape and probably will take the winter to complete. The owner thinks it’s worth $500 more than real value but, I think we will come to a conclusion this weekend.

Have it from a good source that a 152 plow can be mesmerizing... Your rows look pretty straight, Dale. You must have been watching where you were going and not hypnotized by the dirt turning off the plow. :D

Hi Dale, Good looking Cub and all. Looks like a good plowing job. I just finished the sickle bar with the new [to me ] parts from you with new bolts and all. Made the new drawbar brackets for the drawbar and all new bolts and 2 helicoils. This one needs the 3/8" bracket for spacing at the final drive. Test run tomorrow. Thanks for everything and see you later. Bill wlm cub

Every 4th to 5th pass I start to see a little curve at both ends. I then make one pass that plows the end of the rows and skims the center, giving me a new straight line, and keeping things square.

I will disk it tomorrow afternoon. I am letting it dry a little so it does not pack in. I will also treat it for grubs and bugs before disking. I will then plant some wheat for winter cover
