Thought you folks might be interested in some of the Cub sights from our recent trip through parts of Nevada.

Yard art in an RV park in Ely, Nevada. IH 200 Manure Spreader.

I was a day late for the tractor show in Beatty, Nevada. Saw this Low Cub on a trailer at a restaurant (Mel's Diner, great comfort food).

Saw one other Cub, mounted on a high stand in front of a repair shop, but I do not remember where it was. There were at least three Binder pickup that I would have liked to bring home, however, they were all being used as work trucks earning their keep.

Thanks for sharing :D Now that's a true low boy there lol. Only one chain holding it down on the trailer is kinda scary to say the least. Definitely a neat rig. Just gotta watch the speed bumps

I'd turned it in some other direction then back at me.
Noticed the finals turned all the way upside down, with the shaft play that's usually there my bet is there's no oil at all inside.

Thanks Bill, I always enjoy seeing stuff that's different.

Looks a similar to Rat Cub. I would be interested to know the story behind this one. Steve

Long ago, somebody posted an old old picture of a very low Cub. This tractor reminds me of that picture. Anybody remember that picture and know where it is?

I think it was from the Wisconsin Historical Society, Jim... Can't seem to find it now, though...

Jim,

Is this the one you are looking for? Notice it too has a strange exhaust, missing headlights, and no hydraulics.

Jeff:

Yeah, that one is the so-called Avocado Cub as it was used in an Avocado orchard. I think that would be the one Jim is thinking about. It was the first one to hit my "that's it" button.

Stan:

Don't remember seeing that one....

I searched the archives for threads on the so-called Avocado Cub .. and yes I have remarked before that I did not coin the term but it was used by others and possibly by the guy who had some similar for sale. Avocado Cub

Rudi,

It is a cool looking cub and would love to have one in the collection. However, why would the 2"-4" drop over a Lo-Boy make any difference in the Avocado Orchard? What purpose "Job" did the cub serve?
