rebuilt PTO

Postby pickerandsinger » Wed Nov 07, 2012 6:29 pm

Thanks to the forum, for all the valuable information and the "how to do" articles written by the gracious contributors, I would like to report " Cubby" is back together and working nicely...I rebuilt the whole PTO...Figured as long as it was apart...Got the parts "Pronto" from TM sales...Only problem encountered was the grease cover center hole had to be widened to fit close enough to the bearing to install the snap ring....The bearing on the old shaft was tacked on and the new shaft had another smaller snap ring holding it in place...Probably should have ordered a new cover to go with the snap ring set-up...Anyhow that and my breaking the last bolt that needed to be installed on the PTO pulley(drilled it out and re-tapped it) were my only 2 whoops in the project...I used all the information related to PTO's and having never rebuilt a PTO before everything written and pictured enabled me to do so...Again thanks to everyone..Dave

It does help to have encouragement and support.... but I knew you could do it!

TM is surely a prize! Great folks too!
