Wrist Pin Hole

Postby wbollinger » Wed Dec 19, 2012 4:38 pm

Help Please!

Can anyone give me the size of the wrist pin hole in the rod without the bushing in it. I must press the old worn bushing out but worn bushing wall is so thin I must make a pressing plug almost as big as the rod bore and I cannot measure the rod bore until the bushing is out and no one has been able to tell me the diameter of the bore without the bushing in it. It appears to be about .75" but I don't want to mess up my rod bearing using a plug to large. Any help would be much appreaticated. I have a 1971 Farmall with a C60 engine.

I can't help you with that but if you get a new bushing first you could mic the outside of that I would think.

If you don't have a bushing removal/installation kit, try your set of sockets standard and metric.

If you have nothing in your tools or accumulated stuff that will work. Take the pistons, rods, piston pins and bushings to a machine shop. Have them press out the old and install the new bushing. They will also be able to ream the bushing to correct size.
I have an excuse. CRS.
