AL Farmall Boy wrote:Yeah, what I sent you is a screenshot of my excel spreadsheet. It contains much more information (ie. purchase date, purchase price, description, implements, etc.), however I didn't include it since it would be irrevelant to your database. I will see what all I can get you on Sunday (if'n I don't forget). Some of them (I'd say around 8-10) are parts tractors. Should I note that as well?

If you don't mind, that'd be great. Any information you can provide I'll use as best I can.
With as many as you have it may be hard to keep track of, but if you know for instance that you took the head off a parts tractor to install on a runner, then try to list it as it was so that we'll know how they originally were. I don't need everything right away. I'll be adding more info in the months ahead as more information comes in. If you want to send information in piece meal then that'll be fine too. I can always update your tractors as you record the numbers.
Thanks for the effort, it'll be put to good use! :D

No Problem Raymond. I'll get a copy of your spreadsheet and try to keep up with things as I go. My personal email is ihfarmallrtr@gmail.com if you need it. THANKS FOR YOUR WORK!

TRANNY 3-31-T

Tractor was bought new in Pa, I bought it from the mans son. I can get more numbers but not right now. Nothing has been replaced or rebuilt on this machine. Only thing replaced was the battery and a couple light bulbs and tune up.

New Member, short time lurker. I have a 1948 Cub bought new by my Great Grandfather, passed to my dad, then to my grandfather, now to me. I believe it is still all original, 6V:

Tractor: 53723
Engine: 251341R2
Touch Control: 354383R3
Torque Tube: 351686RI
Left wheel housing: 350806R2
Rear axle: 350798R1
Transmission: 351530R1

If these don't seem right or somethings missing, please let me know and I'll see what else I can find. Its in the garage now waiting for the mag to get rebuilt, so it isn't going anywhere!

Thanks,

Eric

Eric, Welcome to the Forum!! Congrats on getting a piece of family history!
Thanks for the information, I'll add what you sent to what I'm working on for the next release.

What you sent is a great starting point, but have a look here for the locations of the casting codes for the different major parts.
You can find the engine SN here.
The codes were used to identify when the part was made, and as an example, "10 * 21 * R" would translate to "October 21 1948". After you get them located, you can determine if all the parts are original, and how they fit into the sequence of other tractors around the build time as yours.
Thanks again-
Raymond

Updates below. Thanks Ray for pointing the dates out.

Tractor: 53723
Engine: 251341R2 S/N:54189, cast date of 11-10-R(?) Not sure about the R, it's hard to make out.
Touch Control: 354383R3 5-15-X
Torque Tube: 351686RI 11-16-R(?) Again, not sure about the R.
Left wheel housing: 350806R2 11-4-R
Rear axle: 350798R1 8-7-C The "C" might be a "G", again, hard to tell.
Transmission: 351530R1 Didn't see a date on this.

If these don't seem right or somethings missing, please let me know and I'll see what else I can find. Its in the garage now waiting for the mag to get rebuilt, so it isn't going anywhere!

Thanks,

Eric

I also have to take the hood off soon, so I'll try to get the top casting date then.
