1948 Update

Postby Jeff Silvey » Fri Jan 04, 2013 8:10 am

Well things are going well on the tractor I'm working on. Took the hood off oh my what years of grease, oil & dirts there is on the tractor. It's going to be warmer next week so it should be cleaner. I have used 3 can's of degreaser so far. The other thing I did was a compression check. I don't think at this time I will get into the engine. This tractor did run last year.

Compression numbers should be fine once you get it done and running. Yeah that thing needs a gallon of purple power and about 3 hours or a good pressure washing :D

Puddy knife the really thick spots, then Kerosene with a stiff nylon or wire brush works as well as degreaser. Then wash with Dawn to remove the kero. Mine was as bad as yours, or worse.
