I know this is not much of a pic but it looks like it might be the same fender?

After seeing all these additional pictures, here's my theory. Someone(like myself) years back made up some fenders to combat the hard-to-get-on Loboy and sold them. It's even possible dealers had access to these fenders somehow, but internet wasn't here yet. I really don't think the IH factory made these because of the mix/match of metal work that was done. IH would have just continued their fancy half rolled edge all the way down. These two suspect fenders almost appear to have either round tube or solid roundstock as an edge and then metalfinished to blend. I could make these fender mods easy, several others on this site could too, like tst..

I still believe the manual pics are of a regular fender, just pencil drawn/viewed bad. A good sketch artist that could pencil draw these two suspect fenders would reveal a more true accurate picture. My feelings, it would look very different.

Mods,Is there any way to transfer/copy all these discussions/pictures over to the main forum so it's not lost a couple weeks down the road when the add runs out, If we all agree to it ??????

Just remember, all this talk is to reveal the truth so we all are comfortable with the results. We may never know the truth or maybe some new information will pop up to confirm things. Digging for the answers is good, long as we don't get our shorts all wadded up in a knot in the process :{_}:

I don't see how this picture has that shortfender. If you remember to remove the plate off the bottom, that would reveal a normal length/height fender.

Not the best of pictures after blowing it up, but the curve can be seen where the bottom plate makes it look square cut.

Boss, I know it would be alot to ask, but if you'd take the plate off your fender and position it at the exact same pose/angle as the manual sketch, I really think that would reveal a big difference

Thanks, Rick

I Know some really good fab people and paint and body people and i have seen a lot of stuff made out of sheet metal, Custom body panels for cars and motorcycles and so on, but i have never seen them not have have to put some kind of body filler in the panels to make them them look straight, to get all the little dings and dents out. From were the paint is missing on boss's fender it dont look like it has any filler in it to me. That is one of the things that makes me think it is not handmade.

I have found out something else, There is some yellow primer on the fender I did not think they primed the fenders and hoods

Thanks for taking the time, Boss. I took the two pics and drew an imaginary line from curved points to curved points to show why I don't think the manual pic is your fender. You can see the drastic difference now.

Your line is not in the right place At the rear of the fender Look in relation to when the holes are in the fender. And after all Jim said it was a funky drawing :D The line should be where the 3 hole are if they were in the right fender.
