I picked up an old cole planter, probably was horse drawn at one time. I'm planning on converting to FH. It has single hopper. The plate size is about 8" wide with a center hole of about 4 1/2". They are metal seed plates. Are these plates still available anywhere? Boss, Any chance you could send me or post some photos of the cole planter you had for sale not too long ago so i can get some ideas on the fast hitch? Thanks, Kirk

Here's a photo that I have. I'll try to get some closeups of mine in the next day or two.

OOPs Didn't notice that it was Don's picture!
Post one of yours. Kirk, The Cole 11's didn't have a fertilizer hopper, the 12's did. the 12MX has a floating shoe. Good news, plates for the 12 mx fit and are available from Cole. They are a good planter, I prefer them over the Cub planter for ease of mounting. The fretilizer hopper is small for field use, but OK for a garden. An extention hopper is available. The manual is on Cole's site.

Here is a photo of the planter. Looking at the seed plate it turns clockwise to the right.

Here's another saved photo. Don't remember whose this is, either.

Looks like the runner (sword) is worn. If you look around, I'll bet you can trade the 3-point mount for a fast hitch mount.

Shop-vac, clean it out if there is enough seed to save.

I just put a small bucket under the planter and spin the wheel to clean out my hopper, most of the time there is not that many seed left in it anyway. Yes I can Build you a hitch for that planter, i need to build 2 for 2 planters i have anyway. Let me know if you are interested.
Have A Nice Day!
