Built 3 of these this weekend

Postby Clint Carter » Sun Jan 13, 2013 2:49 pm

Had a cole planter setting around and thought i would make it more useful to the fleet and built me a one point hitch for it. Have one I was thinking of parting with, (not sure yet) so though i would make one for it to. Well I might run across one down the road so i will make one to have on hand, I guess i will stop there. Sometimes it is just as easy to make more then one when you have all the tools out and going, and when my brain gets going, witch is rare it is hard to stop. Thanks to Boss for the measurements and some of the steel

Clint, if you didn't taper the bottom of the point, I would do that. Don't ask how I know! Also some shims on the sides like the original Cole planter to lessen "slop". Looks like a very good job and should work well.

Start at the bottom front of the and remove 1/8" to3/32" over about 4
" . The drawbar has several bends in it. Check a factory point, they are not flat on the bottom either.
