Pretty sure I came up with 1" also Boss. Not the best solution, I just got a 1" nylon spacer (in one of those drawers at a real hardware store) and a long bolt. There is a weld nut in the radiator channel, which side faces forward is important.

Someone put the radiator on my 64 with no side channels or flat stock on the front and back. I couldn't figure out why the hood was moving so much going down the highway  till I got a good look at it. After the hood was painted I was over the edge trying to get it to fit the Lo Boy..... turns out there is a short run of them with a higher peak and extended radiator neck. Undocumented, but Tom at TM knew about them. I had a radiator shop extend the neck and will start on the 64 one day soon

Out to the barn today looking for the standoffs.... I discovered the reason I didn't remember having any. The LH one is missing altogether and the RH has the bolt broken off. Now that I know what they are, It will be easier to extract the bolt.
Pictures are worth a thousand words indeed. Thanks again, and forgive me for hijacking the thread...
Regards, Stan

PS I guess you never know what little piece of info may be valuable to another Cubber... :big afro:

Glad to be of some help Stan. I spent a lot of time trying to get the hood in that picture to fit, so I know a little about it.

Funny thing, I was looking at Bob Perry's yeller Cub yesterday and it has the same 'pointy' hood.... now he knows why the radiator cap scrapes the hood (and his new paint job). Just across from it was a yeller Lo Boy with a 'normal' hood. Dang undocumented changes!
