I get my ferules and extra fittings from NAPA, but my lines come from Autozone. They are easier to bend, plus I like the black anodized color.

Thanks so much for the replies guys. Yes barnyard that makes much more sense now. Thank you for explaining that to me. I'm gonna get the stuff rounded up and make a bunch if lines now!!

Please forgive me if this is a high jacking.
I'm going to make a new fuel line for the new carb I got. I got some 5/16 brakeline to get rid of the copper and rubber hose combo i've had on the tractor. The only connections I've found locally are to connect two lines. Can I get two 5/16 ferruls and use them with the nuts that came with the brakeline? The nuts on the brakeline have a few more threads that the nut that came out of the fuel bowl. Will that present a problem?
An additional issue is the cut off valve is turned with the handle on the exhaust side of the tractor. The current line loops around. I would like to turn the fuel bowl, but I'm concerned about stripping something to tighten it a half turn or making it too loose and leak. Any suggestions?

Just my $.02
If, you get your fittings from NAPA or another auto parts store, MAKE SURE you get the brass ones. They also have steel ones, that look like brass. These will tear up the threads or a carb inlet faster than you can blink an eye. I tore up a couple before I realized what I had.

That's what they are Dale. Thanks for the heads up. I guess we won't get going today because the only brass I can find is to couple brake lines together. I'll call TM on Monday and get the good stuff.
