Oil is getting to the bearings. Who rebuilt the engine? Back to my common fault of rebuilders - leaving out the oil gallery plugs when block is boiled out.

When engine was boiled the plugs were left in. And engine was built with the same plugs left in. Are those plugs got an orifice in them to create pressure.thanks for all the help

Typically the oil gallery plugs are removed and the oil galleries cleaned with a bore brush. No orifice in oil gallery plugs. Plugs are allen headed machine screws used to close off oil gallery opening. Remove the valve chamber cover and see if a allen headed machine screw is located just below the bolt hole holding the cover in place. Easy to replace if missing. Also check the oil pressure regulator valve - see if it's in place and the spring present. Easy fix if missing. Question again: Professional engine rebuilder? Do it yourself? School shop?

Post your question or questions on this board. There is a large number of members who are extremely knowledgeable about all facets of engines. Including folks who have been working on engines for 60 plus years, engineers of several types, folks who dismantle and rebuild engines, instructors in auto mechanics, etc.. Someone or several people will know the answer.

I question the gasket behind the oil pump, I have never had this problem, but have heard that if the gasket is not the proper thickness then you will not get oil pressure. Anyone else know about this from hands on projects?

I know it's not the answer you want to hear, but to protect the $$$ you put into rebuilding that engine you are probably going to have to tear it down. There is just no way to know what is going on in there otherwise. We don't have long distance X-ray vision, unfortunately.
The oil pump is inaccessible, and the galley plugs are inaccessible without tearing into the tractor.

DJ, how long are you running the motor before you shut it down due to lack of oil pressure? Again, it takes a bit of time for oil pressure to show up on the gauge.
I can't believe the plugs were not removed when the block was boiled out if it was done by someone that knows what they are doing. The oil galleries need to be cleaned out and the only way they can be cleaned out is by removing the plugs. Have you removed the valve chamber cover to make sure that plug is in place??

I pulled the engine today. There is a threaded hole for a plug right behind the cam gear.there are no plug in it.could that be why I'm not getting oil pressure. The hole behind the cam gear looks like access to the oil channels. A y help
