Mac,
They are availible from Case/IH.Cost about $53. in 02' for the set of 8..If I can remember. Not to hard to do if your overhauling engine. If you just want to guides.Take the head off etc. take the valves out make sure you remember where they go.You know how that goes.I might as well do the valves. Well anyway, take a brass drift and knock the guides out.Clean it up and put the new ones in.Read GSS-1141 for proper depth of guide. I put mine in the (ice box)that for you real oldtimers.Made a nice tool(brass) and slipped them in.Install as in just reversed (I sound like a Chilton manuals....put back knucklehead the same way you took off.

Much to my chagrin Art, I have been following this. Tis a sad, sad day indeed to read of such a coup! I'm sure if Mac were truly a nice fellow, he would have that cub delivered to central Ohio ASAP. The cub locator beacon is down having a force field / tractor beam added....OOPS! I probably shouldn't have told that! It should be operational about mid June.

If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem.

And just think... if it's successful, of all the Cubs that will be rising to the bait! I think maybe several of mine!

Well bigdog i don't know what i'm going to do with it but
i do know what i'm not sorry i can't be a nice fellow today.
The cub does't feel like it was used much the stering is tight and
the shift is tight, the brakes are good.I looked in the tank and it
looked new in there. He spent $130 to rebuild the carb. I was talking to the mechanic and he said that it needed valve job and guides and
the rest of the motor was good.I think i'll just stick it in the
tractor shed for now.
