float pin stuck??

what might cause my pin that holds in my float to become stuck in my carburetor?

Perhaps moisture in the carb caused the pin to rust.

Penetrating oil and the smallest needle nose pliers you can get your hands on.

Tap the float pin from each side. Carefully. Use a light oil (3 in 1) for lube. You don't want to bend or break the casting holding that pin!

The varnish/residue left behind after gasoline evaporates.

Sea Foam or a good soaking in carburetor cleaner.

Thanks Carl...the oil loosened her up enough for me to budge it and then it came right out...Now i got to remember how to put the crazy thing back together???
