189 Plow on Underslung Exhaust?

Seems like I'd heard that you couldn't use an old style 2 way plow setup on a later model cub with Underslung exhaust due to some clearance issues. Is this correct? I was planning on sticking mine under our 75 cub to do a little plowing. Thanks

Brandon, it might have something to do with the dogbone being in the way.

The depth adjusting rockshaft.

Where these plows not available when cubs with underslung exhaust came out? Wonder if you could use a single plow depth lever that just holds one side of the drawbar and it still plow? Might be something I just have to try to see if I can work around it.

You can do this, but you risk warping the drawbar.
The original 189 plows came this way, later IH added the second dogbone connection to prevent this.

I was looking for the document but did not have time beyond a quick check. The depth rockshaft was later recommended by IH even for the 193 plows so what Raymond suggested must be the reason. My 1952 has dead hydraulics and my 1950 project is a ways away from being completed. I am using my square nose Cubs for plowing without the rockshaft- but as a 193. I really don't need the 189 for my small plots that take a half hour to plow but I would like to at least take a photo with the complete set up!

Brandon I have a 1956 Cub and I take the muffler off to put my 189 plow on. I have not really used it that way much, just trying it out to see how it mounted. You would probably need to put a bracket to stabilize the exhuast pipe or shorter pipe with muffler/bracket.
