My mother inherited a 1949 Cub tractor. Now that we have it running we are in search of implements to garden. She says that it needs 3 pt plows. We have talked to local tractor companies but without any luck. I found this website when on Amazon.com and hope that someone can help us out. Thank you.

Ruth, three point plows will not work on a Cub. What you need for a Cub is a model 193 single point plow unless you have a fast hitch, then you would need a model 194 single point. A Cub will not handle more than one plow at a time.

Does your cub have a 3 point hitch? If so, it would be unusual. Post a picture of the rear end of your tractor--the hitch mechanism--and members here will tell you the type of plow you need and where you might find one.

I looked up your zip code and see that you are northern Louisiana. There are several great Cubbers not far from you that can help you find a plow once it is determined what kind you need. Also, welcome to the Forum.
Does the back of your tractor look like this:

or this:

The first picture is the usual drawbar, the second is the fast hitch that takes implements designed for it. There are aftermarket 3-point hitches made, but they are expensive and not terribly practical for use on Cubs.

G\day to you and congrats to your Mom on her inheriting her '49 Cub

Suggest that both you and Ruth spend some time reading the links below. Pay special attention to the
McCormick Farmall Cub Operator's Manual 5-1-49 and the implements for the Cub in the
Cub Implement Manuals section. As Bill mentioned you need a
Cub-193 Moldboard Plow 11-20-51. 3 point equipment will not fit a Cub. Cub specific implements are essentially required but are not hard to find.
Enjoy the Cub, post pics when you can cause we like em a lot

Thank you for your questions. I will take a picture of the rear end of the tractor and post so that all of you can view. My mother is 81 and her memory is not so good. She said that she needs a 3 pt. plow. Bob, I live in southeast Louisiana near the toe of the "boot". Thank you to all of you for your input.

That tractor doesn't have a 3 point system. You'll need a 193 moldboard plow and a drawbar as Rudi mentioned or a 152 belly plow.

Looks like they might be needing shanks and shovels/plows for the cultivator frames?

to clarify just a little more, your cub has the frame for a cultivator for cleaning weeds between rows of plants. Some people do call them plows, but an actual plow is for turning the soil in preparation to disking and planting. If you will follow this link it shows a cub with the attachments that were available for the early cubs. Of course there are a lot more attachments to fit now than there was then.

Thank you so much for your help! Now that I know what we need, where do I purchase the parts that I need?

What parts are you looking for? That hasn't been clarified yet. You can place an ad in the wanted section of this forum

I think they're looking for standards, clamps and sweeps/shovels.
