Cub hp and rpm's

What was the year that the horse power and rpm's were increased in the Cub ? Was it in 1964 , when they went to the International's ???

Acording to ATIS it the change happen at engine number 264,568. this was in 1975 or slightly before

University of NE tractor test lab measured HP at the drawbar abd pto/pulley. This takes into account-> tire slippage, hp losses in the gearing. I know this is obvious to most cubbers but one or two might not realize that you can not compare the hp of a cub to the murry tarctors you find at WM.

I agree- I was driving a Deere 1944 model with two cylinder about 300 CI I think he said it was. Amazing to see the torque of that engine at low rpm
when a load was applied. By locking the brake and turning the wheel sharply it chugged in a circle effortlessly. The Cub turns a a relatively low rpm and does a wonderful job all considered. Mine being 40 years old
and running like a top. With two Gravelys,a Murray, a Honda push, and a Cub they are gonna outlast me for sure.
