1978 Ih Cub ProjectHere are a few pic's of a 1978 IH cub project that I bought Sat. It will give me more to do for a while.
Re: 1978 Ih Cub ProjectReminds me of an IKEA desk. Some assembly required.

Re: 1978 Ih Cub ProjectBatteries not included right
Nice looking project Paul, and looks like you got some nice implements with it to boot. Hope it was a good deal. Confusion breeds Discussion which breeds Knowledge which breeds Confidence which breeds Friendship

Re: 1978 Ih Cub Projectnice pile and fast hitch goodies

Re: 1978 Ih Cub ProjectI am thinking the implements are worth almost what I gave for the project. If the tractor is what the man said, I should be able to put a battery in and fire it up after I get it back together. At least I hope so. It is a pig in a poke deal, but I tend to take people at their word.
Re: 1978 Ih Cub ProjectA lot of nice stuff, but are the rear tires on backwards?
Re: 1978 Ih Cub ProjectTaken in Boss's backyard! Where did you find it? I know of an early cub that needs a new home, but don't know if it can be bought. (Basket case)

Re: 1978 Ih Cub Project
It was up on blocks and we got the tires on backwards just trying to get it on the trailer.
The pic;s were taken at my house in Elkin NC. This cub came from east of Raleigh NC.
Re: 1978 Ih Cub Project
Dan, I knew about the cub, Paul and I had talked about it. I am not into buying something out from under someone else. Just not the way I was brought up. I guess I am old school, I wish there were more old school folks around. And I will say again I dont buy NC tractors Boss IN GOD WE TRUST

Re: 1978 Ih Cub Projecthere are a few more pic's. Has anyone used a grader blade with shanks to attach to cultivator tool bar?
Re: 1978 Ih Cub ProjectVery nice haul. I'm looking at implement value around $1500 or more! The rear blade with the shanks on it is just a farm modified 54 front mount blade. Maybe you have the rest of it in the pile and can turn it back into maybe a 54A blade setup. Looks like a sweet package to me!
Re: 1978 Ih Cub ProjectHey I recognize that tractor, they sold them to farmers that had lost their butt and did not know which way to turn [ no seat and steering wheel

Re: 1978 Ih Cub Project
From the looks of the rear wheels they were going backward anyways.
Re: 1978 Ih Cub ProjectDad had a cub with a fixed blade mounted in the front cultivator brackets. It was a home made idea, and worked very well. Good looking project.
Ad Boss, I like those old values, wish we had more left. Guiena, 1951 Farmall Cub; Jumping Willy, 1949 Farmall Cub.
Re: 1978 Ih Cub ProjectI have used a home made rig on the universal tool bar. Worked good for working driveway. Also. Have pix of one mounted to rear tool bars. Looks like it would work good too. Down side, no angle adjustment.
