Anybody seen any 79's sell lately? I was wondering what the ballpark range was? Just wondered what was average and silly high? A local guy here in KY listed a 79 140 on eBay for $8500. I wasnt sure how many 140's they made but I know they made less cubs. Just wondering. Thanks

Couple of 140's listed at much lower prices. You can also search for Cubs on ebay to get an idea of prices.

I'm talking about 79's only based on collectible prices being the last year production.

Brandon, I have seen 1 or two in the last couple years. I think no more than any long stripe in the same condition. The one I sold, I did good on, but because the guy wanted it badly, not because it was a '79. If it is not the 1st or last serial # of the year, I don't think more than $500 for a comparably shaped long stripe of any age.

So how about some black stripe prices? What's high and low? Original faded paint and farmer repaints? I've never sold any square hooded cubs.

$2500 to $3000 depending on implements. There is no way to compare apples and oranges when we are talking about 30-40 year old cubs, how they were used and taken care of.

If you are selling, ask as much as you want, you can always come down, you can not go up. If you are buying to keep or to resell, pay what you are comfortable with.

Near as I can tell what few '79s are out there rarely change hands in public, so it's hard to get a going price for '79s only...

IMHO a nice painted up one I would have no issues putting a price tag of $5000 on it. I wouldn't PAY $5000 for one, but I would sure ask it.

Of course if someone waved a stack of $100 bills under my nose for significantly less than that I might snatch them out of his hand and congratulate him on his new tractor...

Long stripe cubs bring $1500 to $2500 depending on condition , like has been said unless it is the last 79 not a lot of difference in price.
