Silver Seat Cushions

So, I'm close to finishing my winter repair work on the 59 Loboy and am thinking about replacing the seat. I bought a black seat last year from the guy in Wauseon OH for a different machine & was pleased with it. My real question here - what years were the silver factory colors? I see in my parts manual it says no longer available but can't see when that occurred. I think it would look nice with the red piping but like to stay with original look. Can anyone give me some advice? Thanks

The remnant of original fabric in the lip of my 1949 Cub pan was silver.

Steve, I found a good firm strong silver canvas for redoing the seat. Found it at Sailrite.com. I thnk it is UV and rain resistant--kind of like Sunbrella but a different manufacturer. Ask Matt at Sailrite to lead you to it. They will send out samples for you to consider--just a buck or two or so. Used this canvas here, have it on the tractor and like it. Too bad I wasn't a better worker on making it wrinkle free. But my behind ain't complaining. The step-by-step instructions here on the forum are good. I had to add the brass grommet per my design, and that worked out okay.

I guess we will learn what really was original. Pretty sure it was the silver duck .. but this latest find will probably prove it:

Lately I have been finding manuals for things one would not believe needed a manual, but .... they are there. Going for good prices though and this is the first one I was able to snag.
