Planting Corn

I got part of my garden ready to plant over the weekend and planted some corn and okra this morning. It was the first time I have planted okra with the 186. I picked up a new plate off of Ebay an it appears to have done an excellent job. It sure beats planting it with the push planter. I will see how well it did in a couple of weeks.

That looks like fun! Wish it was planting weather around here, but unfortunately, we've got another month of snow coming.
You were doing really good until you looked behind you.... now all you're rows will have a zig zag in them. Kidding. Nice work!

I need a GPS on my Cub. I could not plant a straight row if my life depended on it. Daddy always tells me that I can get more seed in a row than most folks can.
Yes Mr. Bill, that 23 inches in the first 3 weeks of February is, for the most part gone.

Does that center pivot come over and irrigate the corn patch?

Don,
It does come over the fence and into the edge of the pasture in front of the corn field. It would sure save me some money if it would reach. They run liquid nitrogen through that thing when they plant corn in that field.

I've noticed that in more than one of his videos and wondered the same thing!

Tim, I love fried and pickled okra, haven't had boiled in a looong time. A couple days ago my wife brought home some "okra chips" that she found at the supermarket. Boy, were those a waste!

Best way to prepare okra is coat with olive oil and grill it. Boy that's some kinda fine eatin right there!

Tim, stop looking back and the rows will get straighter. It does not hurt to pick something out at the other end of the field and drive to it on the first row. Crooked rows are a pain to cultivate I think.

Nice. All we are plowing up here is snow. Last year at this time already had plowed but in a couple of days it will be back in the 20"s. You southern boys got it made.

Just kidding.....Thanks for sharing I have to plant vicariously through you guys.
I have also tried the freeze dried okra....doesn't look so good.....but man they are tasty!! I will have to try the BBQ okra as that sounds really good also!
