clutches?? interchange ability??Is there two different sizes/ diameters on the farmall cub clutch?? I basically want to upgrade the clutch on my int154 from a 3 spring pressure plate to a 6 spring pressure plate. I do not beat on my tractors but i would like a tad more pressure on the disc.
I'm technically misunderstood at times i guess its been this way my whole life so why should it change now.

Re: clutches?? interchange ability??There isn't really enough horsepower in the 154 to cause a clutch to slip even when it is quite worn. The weak point is in the clutch disc where the 5 rivets connect the center splines to the clutch plate.
Some clutch plates also have cutouts between the disc material and the center splines. I don't know if this additionally weakens the disc, but I can't imagine the cutouts helping. 184 w/ Creeper & 3-Point

Re: clutches?? interchange ability??The cutouts or slots in the clutch disc keeps the dust from the clutch disc off of the pressure plate and flywheel so it has a good firm grip/squeeze on the clutch disc. Plus it will also throw off moisture/oil too.
I believe there are two different diameters of clutch discs for the fcub. I'm technically misunderstood at times i guess its been this way my whole life so why should it change now.
