Which attachment to Cubfest

Postby John *.?-!.* cub owner » Sat May 14, 2005 6:43 pm

One of the cubs I plan to bring to cubfest will be Missy, the 49 that bud Fisher (Cub-bud) and his Dad refurbished for me when my health failed in the middle of the job. I am trying to decide which attachment to bring with it. the rear mount disk plow, assuming I get it painted and reassembled in time, or the Mott flail mower. One note, I plan to take the Mott to Red Power. What would those of you that are coming to Cubfest prefer to see in use.

well, so far John, it's a dead heat, with heavy voter turnout

i tore my mott apart today.....smoke from a bearing is a sign of a distressed bearing.... actually, junk bearing...

Art, thae main shaft is one place you don't want a chepa bearing. That shaft weighs aobut 40 pounds, turns at about 2,000 rpm and takes an awful beating.

since we are talking about a mott mower. I have one with a bad outboard bearing and the end of the shaft is bad. Has anybody had the shaft repaired and how to go about it?
Or do I have a pile of parts?

I would suggest taking it to a good machine shop that can turn it downa to fit a different bearing, or build it up and turn it down again.

Hey John...My vote goes to the DISC :D ! You just don't see that many...especially the rear-mounted one like you've got  !

Have learned that BigDogs' Brother in Law is planning to bring his flail mower. Guess that solves that problem.
