i bought mine from oem. i can't compare it to norms but its built well in my opinion and the price was right. it has the rounded corners like the original. i will measure the gage in the next day or 2.
I bought two battery boxes and tool boxes from Farm Country in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. Heavy gauge metal looks like original. Light bracket and hardware included. Very pleased with the quality of their products. Nice folks! Lawrence Ginnow. Shop (920) 231-6623 Cell (920) 420-0255 FARMCOUNTRY@SBCGLOBAL.NET Good luck. Frank
Mine is coming from OEM - It was more about budget. 14 gauge unpainted is 0.0747 thick. When I get the box - I'll throw the mic on it to see how it measures up. Found this chart - wanted to share - you might it useful. http://www.unc.edu/~rowlett/units/scales/sheetmetal.html
