Planet Jr. Cultivator on Ebayhttp://www.ebay.com/itm/Farmall-cub-tra ... 4d0a9996bd
Here's the link, what exactly is it? I thought it was a planter at first with the runner wheels but I was unaware they made a cultivator for a cub. Anybody have any info on it or what it was primarily used for? 1947 Farmall Cub Serial #1024

Re: Planet Jr. Cultivator on EbayI don't know either, but evidently those two bidders do. Hopefully someone can shed some light on this. John
Re: Planet Jr. Cultivator on EbayI dont think that is a cultivator. It appears to be part of a planter. I coulnt imagine thaose presswheels being good for the plants...

Re: Planet Jr. Cultivator on Ebay
This is the potential for the set up, look at picture 4 viewtopic.php?f=1&t=75873&p=609133&hilit=+474+planter+#p609133 I don't know much about them, just know of them.
Re: Planet Jr. Cultivator on EbaySo it appears it just is a cultivator and not a planter? There is no hoppers on the cub in pic 4 and it appears to be like the ebay one. The other planet jr planters have no cultivator feet.

Re: Planet Jr. Cultivator on EbayBoy my eyes are bad...I looked at the first pix on ebay and thought it was a ganged up set of planter jr. planters.
Okay....Gary or Mike...someone who knows what they are talking about chime in! I need a dope slap ![]()
Re: Planet Jr. Cultivator on EbayThey only made 500 of them. I wouldn't use it for parts.

Re: Planet Jr. Cultivator on EbayOkay....so Im a dunce too. Why would a cultivator have press wheels? They are clearly shown in the Picture Jim posted.

Re: Planet Jr. Cultivator on EbayI would guess they are used for depth control of those big sweeps.
Re: Planet Jr. Cultivator on EbaySaw this sell at a sale in Millstone NJ the other weekend. Not sure what it went for but was defiantly lower then the current bidding. I had no idea it was even for a Cub...Darn
Re: Planet Jr. Cultivator on Ebay
Oh Krikes! Too bad you hadn't known. Watch what happens to this on eBay! Bidding ain't done yet...now that this has been outed on the forum. Only 500 made? (how does Jim Becker know these trivia questions?) Ebay had over 600 views...hungry vultures lurking Looks like there are tons of parts missing and pretty weathered and pitted...still should hit $600 or more....I dunno? Thanks Brandon for posting good to see this kind of stuff come up from time to time.
Re: Planet Jr. Cultivator on Ebay
They aren't press wheels, they are gauge wheels. Each section floats independently of the others on its own wheel.
