I made the Cardinal sin of tune-ups of years gone by....put in a longer screw after dropping and loosing the original screw into the points....
WRONG !! I ended up bending the centrifical weights in the distributor...and shearing off the pin to the distributor drive gear...(no rotor rotation)
Luckily, I discovered the weights were frozen, which I freed up, lubed and added 'a smaller screw' that cleared the weight cage in the lower portion of the distributor...found top dead center, reinstalled the distributor and Moxie started up like a champ....only now I have better high end...I used to think it was the high speed jet, only to find it was the centrifical advancement not working....I'm just lov'in this tractor !!
