Questions on engine swap

I have a '61 F Cub that I need an engine for due to too many issues with the present block. I have possibly found a fresh rebuilt complete engine from a number series Cub. What would have to be changed other than front pulley to install this engine in my Cub? The guy wants $500 for the engine and that sounds high to me, but cheaper than buying a block and then having to build it? Thanks for any help.

crankshaft may not be drilled for the pilot bushing, check for that

$500 isn't high, for a rebuilt. Depending on what is needed, it can cost $1000 or more, to rebuild one. Cost me $175, just to have the crank ground. Add rings, bearings, etc., and it adds up, fast. Ed
As Tim said, check the end of the crankshaft, for the pilot bushing hole.

if it is out of a 154 or 185 you shouldnt have pilot bearing issues. should fit just fine, If it is out of a 184 then you probabley will have a pilot bearing issue, The crank will be drilled but takes a smaller OD brass bushing. I installed a 184 engine in my 76 international cub a while back. I was able to get a oilite bushing to fit properly but I never wrote the part number down.

Thanks for the help. Talked with the seller again and the engine is from a 154. Going to go look at it and hear it run. Probably buy if it seems okay.
